Me and my sister-in-laws, Amanda and Neisha sang a song in church yesterday. It was very interesting. We started out and got the first verse done- it was okay but you could tell we were nervous- then somehow we got off. Amanda started before me and Neisha on the second verse- well that was it for me. If any of you know me you know that I am a nervous laugher. I started giggling immediately - I even snorted- ha! I made all kinds of ugly faces to stop from bursting out in loud laughter right into the microphone- oh it was bad!!!!! I gathered every bit of composer in my body and sang the last verse and got through it without laughing but I turned this pretty song into a comedy show. I feel so bad but when I get tickled and try to hold it back it makes it 10 times worse. I have vowed to never sing in public again- well at least in a small group and never ever by myself. I apologize for my behavior- I felt so much like a little child up there giggling through a song but it is what it is:)
This is Sydney's 13th Birthday cake- her party is tomorrow and I spent all day making this. It is by no means perfect but I think it is pretty darn cute. I hope she thinks so too.
The team went to competition on halloween and placed third in their category- they did really well and made very few mistakes- I was really proud of them!! They looked soooo cute!

I talked to the principal about this situation this morning and I guess it is a teacher's perrogative to do what she wants. If she says you can retake a test if you made a 70 or below or 80 or below it is her choice. I however still think it is completley unfair but I can't fight it if it is a rule at the school. Sigh*********
This just keeps getting better. So the teacher is accepting the report that Sydney redid. BUT.... while I was there the teacher let me know that syd made a 77 on a test. So.... I ask syd about it when I pick her up from school. Here's the good part......she says the highest grade was an 80. She let everybody with a 75 or below take it over. WHAT???????? That is the most unfair thing I have ever heard. It was the exact same test too. Does this woman have it out for Sydney or is this just how she operates? What do you think about this? To me it is the most unethical thing I have heard of- how com someone with a 74 gets the opportunity to make 100 but my child is stuck with her 77? CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am off to have a conference with a teacher in about an hour!!!! Syd brought home her report card last night and she has all A's except for PE!!! So I say--what is going on? She says- the teacher says I didn't turn in my report(yes report in PE) and she gave me a zero. Well I watched Sydney do this report and she swears she turned it in. The teacher didn't give Syd a chance to do it over just gives her a zero- the only B on her report card. I am livid. I am going down there this morning and hoping she will change her mind otherwise I am going up the chain of command on this one- just for the principle of it. Syd is a good student and doesn't just -not do her work. This teacher should have handled this differently. What do you think about this? I can't believe I have to go be controversial- I hate it- but I dislike what this PE teacher has done to my child more. PS- who does reports in pe--isn't it supposed to be easy?
(not me) Sage's load of money she got for her birthday!
Sage and Emma getting ready to play putt-putt!
Sage spun around in the go-kart (she got in trouble with the people) but really she didn't mean too!
Bumper Boats- they got so wet but I think they liked this the best!
Sage and Emma's funny faces at lunch!
The waiter sining Happy Birthday to Sage at TGIF!
I think Sage had a fun birthday- it was fun filled with friends, family, cake, and presents. What more could a girl ask for????? Thanks to everyone who came and helped out! I can't believe Sage is 11- she is a beautiflul girl inside and out- Love You Sage!
I am trying to do digital scrapbooking- it is not easy!
I learned a while ago and then got busy - so naturally I forgot everything I had learned- so I am now trying to relearn. This is my first page this go round! I know that it is simple but I like simple because it is EASY!
Did you know you could wear lizards as earrings? Or attach them to your finger?
We have so many lizards in our backyard and the kids play with them all the time- Saxton calls all lizards JOJO for some reason unkown to me but it is pretty funny!
This is my latest purse- i have an addiction to them- buying them and making them!!!
This is a shot of the inside fabric- the green!! This is a closeup- this was my first fabric flower! This is a shot of the whole purse! It is suppose to be reversible but my lining didn't exactly match up right and I think I know why- when I make another one I think I can do it right. The pattern called for a big bow on the purse which I wasn't thrilled with so I tried making the fabric flower with a covered button in the middle and I am happy with it. These may be Christmas presents in the making.
One is a burp rag and the other a blanket with a matching owl whom I call Lola. Isn't she fabulous. I am so excited about it- I will make more but they will all be one of a kind because I will use different fabrics for the owls. Hopefully I can get going and put a couple in my etsy store.
I have made two rag quilts which were fun and one other quilt but this is my first true quilt- I think it is pretty darn cute. The quilting part is definitely the hardest. I am wanting to do a quilt now with free motion quilting.
It was my birthday on Aug 9th- and now I am another year older and hopefully wiser too.
This is my birthday dinner at TGIF- they made me stand in a chair and I told them I was turning 19!!! I think I was 10 shades of red!!!!This is the cake that Sean made me- I call it the leaning tower of yum- hey at least he tried. I got a new camera for my birthday and this picture was taken with it:)
I am learning how to quilt and this is how far I have gotten. I have made 2 rag quilts and 1 other quilt but this is the first one that I have pieced together. I like it so far- next I will put a big border around the edge. If you are related to me- this may be coming to you at christmas or your birthday so just act surprised!!!! I am too excited about it not to post it here though!!! Tell me what you think about this?
This is my awesome idea that I have been working on- I have about 10 ideas in my head right now. This will be one that I will start selling soon in etsy. This is a boy version and I still have lots of ideas for cute girl ones and other uses in my head. Owls are so popular right now and I like them because they can be girl or boy depending on what fabric you use. Anyway what do you think about this one? how much should I charge? I appreciate you comments!
We went and saw G-Force the other day and it was so cute! Our favorite line is "Well what do you suggest I do?"----"Poop in his hand.....Poop in his hand!!!"
This is Saxton in front of the big poster in the lobby!
These burp rags are my latest creations- I think I have made burp rags every possible way. These I think are too cute and I have so many ideas- do you guys like them? This one I used a free pattern from www.portabellopixie.typepad.comThis frog is so cute for a boy- I have a few more ideas on just this frog one- I will have to try them and sell them on etsy or something because I don't need burp rags-ha.
I have many interests. My children get most of my time and I enjoy giving it to them-most of the time.I enjoy reading and making stuff(basic quilting, sewing, digital scrapbooking, and basically anything crafty or anything I can make and I get to use my imagination. I love to watch just about anything on TLC. I also taught dance for about 18 years or soo-wow that makes me feel old. Because of my love for dance I am also addicted to the show "So You Think You Can Dance"- I never miss a show!!! I like to bake too but the problem is that I enjoy eating it just as much as I enjoy making it.
