Trials!!

Today's lesson in church was mostly about being thankful for your trials. Well this is what I took from it anyway! That which does not kill us makes us stronger. The Lord gives us trials so that we can grow from them. If we never knew adversity than happiness would have no place. I am not the greatest at this concept so I will try to improve. When tragedy comes my way I do usually ask why? but then I realize that I could possibly grow as a person because of it( however long this takes varies). I do try to keep my head up when things are bad because I know they could always be worse and I am thankful for that!! Sean being gone for 6 months has been a big trial that I am not yet grateful for but I hope that I have grown from it:)

I do want to share with you a poem that was read at my mother's funeral- and I once had it framed and want to put it up in my house again- it is by William Wordsworth? I think that is right- I am doing this from memory-

What though the radiance that was once so bright
Be now forever taken from my sight
Though nothing can bring back the hour of
splendor in the grass, glory in the flower
We will grieve not but rather find strength
in what remains behind!!

I will never be grateful that my mother passed away but I am working on finding inner peace about it- although it is a daily struggle!! I try to find strength in my family that I do have and I love them dearly:) I hope that they can be patient with me and my emotional roller coaster that I take sometimes.

SICK!!!!

Well on Monday I decided to take Saxton to the doctor. He was diagnosed with another sinus infection and is back on antibiotics. The poor kid- how much can one kid take!

While I was there I had my prescriptions renewed and they talked me into the flu shot. It has made me so sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will no longer take the flu shot!! I am on my second day of sickness and am so tired of it! Say a little prayer for me that I will feel better:)

Pumpkin Patch with Preschool

This was Saxton's preschool class- we went to Carroll Farms today! The kids had a great time learning about animals, playing on the tractor playground, making a craft, but most of all riding on the tractor and picking out their pumpkins. We did almost get blown away though- it was seriously windy today!!!!!

Champions of Hope

This was at the beginning of the 5K walk for the Champions of Hope!!
This was lots of fun and encourage everyone to come next year- they had a kids dash and they all got medals. Our team name was the PINK MAFIA!!!

More Iraq Pictures

Just a couple more pictures from that trip down to southern Iraq that I made a few weeks ago. And yes, I was growing a mustache down there again, but it is gone now.

Saxton Favors Sean in More than Just Looks

Stacey told me a story yesterday that made me laugh. At Saxton's school they were doing a worksheet in class. Saxton was being stubborn and did not want to work on it in class, so the teacher sent it home with him and asked Stacey to make sure he did it and tried to be neat. Well Saxton being like his dad was procrastinating doing this homework and generally being hard headed. As Stacey got more frustrated with him, Saxton tried to negotiate his way out of doing the homework and told Stacey he would like a spanking if that meant that he could get down from the kitchen table and go play. I was a lot like that when I was a kid and I am sure that my dad will get a good laugh out of this story as my antics as a young boy are probably responsible for a few of his grey hairs.

Update from Sean

Just a quick note to say "Hi" to you all. I have been down in Kuwait for the past week which has been a bit of a break from the day to day grind up in Iraq though the flying over the open desert at night is still extremely challenging and brings its own dangers (different than the threat of fast moving projectiles in Iraq). As funny as it may sound though, I have thought to myself several times today that I am ready to get back home (meaning Camp Taji, Iraq). Though Kuwait is a nice change of scenery and certainly the work pace is much slower down here, the food in the mess hall was not so good. We cooked out hot dogs on the grill several times to reduce the number of meals we ate there. The beds here are not as comfortable as what I have up in Iraq either and I have had 5 roommates here which is fine, but it will be nice not to have to read by flashlight or worry about waking up my buddies if I have to get up in the middle of the night.

I was recently called to serve in the LDS Serviceman's Group leadership for the group there in Taji which has been fun. We have about 40 members on the rolls and have anywhere from 10-30 attend on any given Sunday. I gain great strength from the testimonies of the other members here and am constantly amazed at the blessings that the Lord showers down upon me. Thank you all for your prayers. Sean

Allergy Tests!!!

I made Saxton's appointment for allergy testing today. He will go on October 9th. I am nervous about it because he doesn't handle stuff like that very well! I am hoping it will be a good day! I will post what the results were when I get them! Pray for me and Saxton that we will get through this with little stress! Has anyone had a 4 year old go through this?

Our Adventure!

So I got up early this morning to cut my grass. I got done with the grass and thought i would cut the massivly overgrown bushes. I look over at Saxton and he was vigoursly rubbing his eyes. So I go check him out and I was astonished by what I saw. His eye- just one- was swollen really really bad. I immediatley give him Benadryl and waited and he continued to get worse. It spread to the other eye and both eyes were almost shut and I made the decision to go to the hospital. The doctor there was amazed at how swollen they were. He said it was an allergic to reaction to something although we dont know what for sure. So my day has taken a change from what was planned. I think we will have to have him allergy tested. The pictures really don't do it justice - it was scary!

After the hospital visit!

Its kinda blurry but gives you an idea of how bad it was!

I Think I'm Crazy -really!

Okay so I thought I would share what has been going on in my life! I have suddenly felt panic over the next few months. I am somewhat a perfectionist because I want to everything the best I can-okay I want it to be perfect. Sage's birthday is in October so I want to throw her a perfect party followed shortly by Sydney's birthday which also needs a perfect party. Which brings us around to Christmas-OH MY GOSH! Saxton would say holy crap- I don't know where this comes from and I correct hime every time he does it- ones of those kid things! So Christmas is crazy because I am doing it alone. I have decided to make alot of the presents so I am starting know but in the frenzy of all the birthday stuff and thanksgiving is in there somewhere too. All of this doesn't include everyday life which takes all of my time- and the fact that I hardly get time away from my LOVELY, DARLING, BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN. They are actually being good right now so I can't complain too much. SEE I TOLD YOU I WAS CRAZY- DOES ANYONE ELSE FEEL THIS WAY?????

Victory for Yoda!

And Saxton is down 1-2-3! Looks like Yoda won this round!

Twilight Series!!!

I am addicted to these books. I can't say how much I loved this story. I have never read so fast before in my life. I also never thought I would want to be a vampire- but I felt so strongly for these characters.(Ha-Ha-Ha) I do also feel they are adult books in particular the last one. I strongly recommend them for a great fantastic read but be prepared for not doing anything but reading because you won't be able to put it down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crazy Life!

Well the girls are back in school. Sage is in the 4th grade and she loves it. Sydney is officially now in middle school- 6th grade. She is joining the band and is going to play the flute. Saxton does not start school until the beginning of September which is when dance starts. I will be teaching one day a week and both girls will be taking. We are going to a new studio this year. It is here in Ozark and is called Elevations- we are excited and hope it will be a great dance year. We are all missing Sean and are counting down the days until he comes home!!!

Look-a-like Meter

I have to say this is a little unfair = to have all of your children look more like their father. I already knew how Saxton's would turn out 15% but both of the girls leaned his way too. Come on- give me something! HA-Ha-HA!

The 4th of July!!!

My family and Britt's family went to Wild Adventures in Valdosta, Georgia. It was such a blast- Saxton asked all day to ride the Dizzy Dragons and to be more precise- the blue one. So we rode it a few times. They had the best fire works that I have ever seen. We spent all day there and were worn out by the end but we made some great memories just by being with each other.
